Miranda Webster works from observation, a process of concentrated looking and the slow accumulation of detail, creating paintings that capture the physicality of subjects, and the layered time of making. This intense attention is focused on the world of the studio, in which sculptural objects and installations are created as a means of exploring ideas around human and non-human corporality, care and its limitations, and the complex relationship between person and thing.

Miranda Webster (b.1991, Auckland, New Zealand) studied at the Beaux Art de Paris (2017-2022) and lives and works in Margate, UK.

Recent exhibitions include Quatre, La Verrière, Brussels, BE (2026), the John Moores Painting Prize, Walker Gallery, Liverpool, UK (2025) and Le Jour des Peintres, Musée d’Orsay, Paris, FR (2024).
